SAR Academy
If you are interested in an upcoming SAR Academy, please fill in the information below and click submit. A SAR member will contact you as we get closer to the academy in regards to an open house, interviews and acceptance in the academy. We will be closing the interest list soon. At that time we will be contacting the entire list with information pertaining to the Academy application process. The academy will take place in Onondaga County and Oswego County.

The SAR Academy is based on SARTECH II aka FUNSAR Program. You will NOT be certified to SARTECH II however, after completing the academy, you should easily pass the exam if you so wish to take it. The Academy is a 3 month extensive training program. It is both classroom and field work and classes are usually run on a weeknight and weekends. To complete the Academy you must pass both a written exam and field exams. You must attend all classes in the Academy to graduate.

Please Note - Schedule does change but this is about a 75-100 hour class. It does require week nights and weekend full days to complete.
