Mission 121815
Tue. Dec 22nd 2015

On December 18th at 23:08 WSAR was dispatched to assist NYSP in a missing persons case in the Town of Fabius. Oswego County SAR was started on our dispatch in addition to a request for the NYS Forest Rangers. SARC2 and MCU4 responded to the scene and met with NYSP units on scene. NYSP K9 units that had been in the field were debriefed and GPS tracks downloaded. Apulia FD was also on the scene with ATV support of the trail system. Once more SAR and NYSP K9 resources arrived a plan to send 4 K9 teams in the field with SAR was deployed. At approximately 03:30 it was evident we would be pushing into Operational Period 2. Discussion with NYS Forest Ranger, NYSP, Apulia FD and SAR resulted in a move to the Apulia FD for command of the incident. Next operational period would start at 09:00 on Saturday December 19th.

Units were again on site starting around 08:00 with 3 NYS Forest Rangers from Region 7 and multiple NYSP K9 units. A request to the NYS Federation for additional SAR resources resulted in an additional Area Search K9 and Crew Boss's. K9 units were supplemented with SAR units to handle navigation and communications. Approximately 12:30 the subject was located and ground teams returned for debriefing. All SAR units were cleared by 15:00 hours.
