WSAR helps teach Scouts how to Search

Today members from Wilderness SAR Team worked with Boy Scout Troop 22 from Jamesville-DeWitt area on Search and Rescue. The training was heald at Highland Forest. Team members went over basic Hug A Tree items, pack equipment and search techniques. Scouts then got to make it to the woods to perform a Type III search scenario. The crews located most of the clues in there assigned area and were debriefed by Jason Baleno (Incident Commander) and released to get warm in there cabin.

Bear Bait Radio Club has done many things with WSAR over the years, including trainings, drills and education. Many members of WSAR are licenced Amateur Radio operators. Check them out here !
We have partnered with the Onondaga County Sheriffs Department in this project. Our team has 2 portable receivers in our possession with all folks trained in the basic operation.
