THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT
SNOW ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 11 PM EDT
THURSDAY.

* LOCATIONS...NORTHERN OSWEGO COUNTY ACROSS HIGHER TERRAIN WEST OF
  INTERSTATE 81. HIGHEST AMOUNTS IN TOWN OF REDFIELD.

* TIMING...OVERNIGHT TONIGHT THROUGH LATE THURSDAY EVENING.

* ACCUMULATIONS...1 TO 3 INCHES OVERNIGHT...1 TO 3 INCHES
  THURSDAY...AND AN INCH OR LESS THURSDAY EVENING...LEADING TO
  STORM TOTALS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE MOST PERSISTENT LAKE SNOWS.

* IMPACTS...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL RESULT IN DIFFICULT TRAVEL IN
  LOCALLY HEAVY SNOWFALL...MAINLY ACROSS HIGHER TERRAIN. HEAVY WET
  SNOW MAY ALSO PRODUCE SOME MINOR TREE DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES.

IN LAKE EFFECT SNOW THE WEATHER CAN VARY FROM LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW
IN NARROW BANDS TO CLEAR SKIES JUST A FEW MILES AWAY. IF YOU WILL
BE TRAVELING ACROSS THE REGION BE PREPARED FOR RAPID CHANGES IN
ROAD AND VISIBILITY CONDITIONS.
